Britain’s government has set up a committee to examine ethical issues
relating to genetically modified foods. John Polkinghorne, the president
of Queen’s College Cambridge, is chairing a study into the subject. It will
investigate such issues as future trends in the production of transgenic
organisms and the ethical concerns raised by the use of food products derived
from them.
