Mistaken Identification by Brian L. Cutler and Stephen D. Penrod (Cambridge
University Press, £35/$59.95, ISBN 0 521 44553 1 hbk, £14.95/$18.95,
ISBN 0 521 44572 8 pbk) drives yet another nail into the coffin of the so-called
criminal justice system. You could not find a more meticulous presentation of
just how unreliable eyewitnesses are. Psychology is presented too idealistically
for my liking, but perhaps the authors hoped to impress the legal
fraternity.
