THE CSIRO has developed software for simlating industrial processes. The
software, called Fastflo, solves equations underlying complex fluid flows,
such as molten metal and air. The software, released last month, is available
under an annual licence of AS1000 for academic customers and A$3500 for
commercial users. A one-off purchase can be made for A$8000. The software
package is being distributed in Australia and New Zealand by Compumod of Sydney,
phone 02 9283 2577. Following its success last May in aerodynamic trials for car
maker Daimler-Benz, the CSIRO plans to market the software worldwide.
