The political parties are also canvassing for the nerd vote on the Internet.
The Conservative site (http://www.conservative-party.org.uk/index.html) has a
signed message from Major claiming that 鈥渋t was not the state that created the
Internet鈥濃攁s though the American military had nothing to do with it.
Labour鈥檚 site (www.labour.org.uk) sports the logo 鈥渘ewLabour newBritain鈥 in a
typeface that looks suspiciously like the old 麻豆传媒logo.
Meanwhile, the Libdems (www.libdems.org.uk) have the puzzling slogan: 鈥淭hink you
can do better?鈥 But perhaps the best fun is to be had among the also-rans. The
New Communist Party of Britain鈥檚 Web page (www.geocities.com/CapitolHill/2853)
has the message: 鈥淪till under constant construction.鈥
