Netropolitan :

THE main political parties are getting quite enough publicity elsewhere in
this issue (see Forum). So in the interests of political balance, Netropolitan
has been browsing the Web sites of those parties which are unlikely to win any
seats on 1 May.

No British election would ever be complete without the Official Monster
Raving Loony Party. It was founded by Screaming Lord Sutch in 1963, which makes
him the country鈥檚 longest-serving political leader. Sadly, Sutch is not
standing. And although the date of the election has been known for several
weeks, the party鈥檚 Web site (http://raving-loony.pv.org) is still unprepared.
鈥淧lease come back later,鈥 it pleads. No doubt after the election.

If this is headquarters, as Marx once remarked鈥擥roucho, that
is鈥攇ive me hindquarters. On the party鈥檚 Cambridge constituency site
(http://bridge.anglia.ac.uk/~systimk/Omrlp/index.html), you can find details
of the party鈥檚 campaign to abolish statistics, and its alleged political
achievements鈥攕uch as the all-day opening of pubs.
