A first edition of the book in which William Harvey revealed his discovery of
the circulation of the blood was last week sold at Christie’s in New York for
$530 500, nearly three times its predicted price. The book is part of the
Haskell F. Norman collection, the finest set of scientific and medical books to
come on sale in recent years. The 800 lots sold so far have realised $14
million.
