People’s exposure to lead can be revealed by the filters of their tumble
dryers, says a team of Canadian researchers. Peter Mahaffy of King’s University
College in Edmonton, Alberta, and his colleagues studied 52 households. They
found that lint samples correctly identified the households of radiator
repairers, who are exposed to high levels of lead at work (Environmental
Science and Technology, vol 32, p 2467).
