in metres to the flagpole is absolutely crucial if the game is to be mastered,鈥�
he says. Tee marker boards are inaccurate, as is pacing the distance. Instead,
he proposes you carry around a tall pole with a brightly coloured reflector pod
at the top. Before each shot, you walk to the hole, stick in the pole, walk back
to the ball and use an optical range finder. The inventor doesn鈥檛 say what
fellow golfers are likely to think of the idea.
