Britain’s business leaders are opposed to the use of genetic screening to
identify staff with gene defects that might lead to sickness and early
retirement. Only 8 per cent were in favour of compulsory screening, but a third
said they would be happy with genetic testing if the employee consented.
According to Geraint Day of the Institute of Directors, which carried out the
survey: “We have to consider… implications for insurance, civil liberties and
human rights.â€
