Video conferencing on 3G cellphones will be a problem, because a caller
talking into a phone can’t watch a screen—or be pictured by a camera. But
Motorola has an answer (GB 2351201). Its cellphone has a combined LCD screen and
camera unit which can be twisted off the main phone body. The camera is held
separately, or sits on a desktop facing the user, from where it communicates
with the hand-held phone by an infrared link. The screen is also
touch-sensitive, and can be used to send notes written with a stylus.
