Dithering motorists will be able to broadcast their uncertainty to the world
with the 鈥渉oldback indicators鈥 being patented by Gerald Cotter of Lancaster (GB
2356747). Four extra indicator lights are fitted to the front and rear corners
of a car, these extra lights are controlled by a switch that is completely
separate from the conventional indicators. When drivers want to turn left, but
are not quite sure where their turning is, they flash the left 鈥渉oldbacks鈥
鈥攐r the right ones if they want to turn right. And they flash both lights
if they鈥檙e not sure whether their turning is to the left or to the right.
