Israel is a nation of hackers. Virginia-based computer security firm Riptech
analysed the number of attempts to break into computer networks around the world
last year and where they originated. The vast majority came from the US. But
when Riptech adjusted for the number of Internet users in each country, Israel
came out top. The country made 26.1 attacks per 10,000 users, nearly twice as
many as the second-worst offender, Hong Kong. France is the only country to earn
itself a place in the top ten both for total number of attacks and attacks per
Internet user.
