You’ll soon be able to use your cellphone to buy stuff straight from advertising billboards if London-based wireless software company Symbian gets their way. Billboards advertising everything from perfume to music concerts will use radio waves to transmit information on the product to the pavement in front of the ad. This information is picked up by your mobile phone which gives you a menu to choose from (GB 2370468). After keying in your selection, the billboard transmits the order to a central distribution point or ticket agency. The goods or tickets can then be sent out to your address or picked up on the night.
