The short-listed entries include a garlic extract to prevent cows and sheep belching excesses of the powerful greenhouse gas methane, and green hubcaps that improve fuel consumption by reducing the turbulence experienced by truck wheels.

The winner, a solar-powered oven for boiling and sterilising water, was announced this month.
