I WOULD like to point out right away that the best bird photograph I鈥檝e ever taken was of a gull eating fries at McDonald鈥檚, and even that had part of my finger in it. It鈥檚 from this novice perspective, , that I鈥檇 like to suggest that all working and wannabe bird photographers will benefit from 鈥荣 Creative Bird Photography. The stunning, colourful close-up of a king penguin鈥檚 neck on the cover tells us immediately that his pictures won鈥檛 be like our fathers鈥 bird photos. And while the photos are enough to make us get off the couch and run outside with our camera, it鈥檚 the text that makes this such a valuable book. The discussion of equipment is honest and candid, while Coster鈥檚 unpretentious style takes the reader on an enjoyable adventure, as he offers a wealth of helpful photography tips, like keep your fingers 鈥渂ehind鈥 the lens. Now he tells me.
