The tube that kicked off particle physics

Nearly 120 years ago J. J Thomson discovered the first sub-atomic particle using a custom-made glass tube. His "cathode ray" turned out to be the electron. This video was produced by Science Museum, London in association with the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences in Sydney
