Al Worden served as Command Module Pilot for Apollo 15, the seventh crewed lunar mission and the fourth to land a person on the moon. During the mission he performed the first ever spacewalk in deep space, and became the most isolated human when his lunar orbit took him 3600 kilometres from his crewmates on the moon’s surface.
