Gallery: Five new robots march into hall of fame

See a gallery of images of the new members of the Robot Hall of Fame

has been honouring robots both real and imagined that have made or inspired technical breakthroughs since 2003. Now an international jury of researchers, writers, and designers has just selected five more to add to the roll of honour.

The Hall of Fame is maintained by Carnegie Mellon University and the Carnegie Science Center, both in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. A display showing the new members will open this year as part of the new .
