4 First view of HIV spreading

How does HIV spread from an infected cell to a healthy one? A team from the University of California, Davis, and Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York captured the process on video for the first time. By dying viral particles with a fluorescent green dye, they were able to see the infection in action.

2 Sky above Cotopaxi, Ecuador

The starry southern hemisphere above the Cotopaxi volcano is a sight to behold. Some new video footage shot by shows shooting stars, the Coalsack nebula, the Southern Cross and the Milky Way. He even captured the flashlights from a group of climbers near the end of the video.

1 Mini autonomous helicopters

These miniature robot helicopters can perform some mean stunts. A model developed at the General Robotics, Automation, Sensing and Perception (GRASP) Laboratory at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia can flip, swarm, perch, and fly through windows.
