THE fast food chain McDonald’s has invited the Environmental Defense
Fund, one of the US’s leading environmental groups, to join a task force
that will propose ways to cut down on the amount of waste the company produces.
McDonald’s has not agreed to adopt any of the recommendations. Any delays
in the smooth progress of hamburgers from frozen storage to serving plate
could provoke a customer revolt, said Shelby Yastrow, a McDonald’s executive.
‘It’s like choreography back there,’ he said.
