The original version of Redshift received major awards for its realistic exploration of astronomy and our Universe. Now Redshift 2 (Maris, £49.99) updates the CD-ROM and offers us a fascinating insight into the space that surrounds Earth. It has rightly received rave reviews for its animated images of journeys through the Solar System and star formation. As an educational tool it is easy to access and offers information to young astronomers on what to see and when. And you can listen while you play -Redshift 2 contains Jean-Pierre Garatoni’s Redshift Suite soundtrack on CD as a freebie.
