AN outbreak of Ebola haemorrhagic fever that has killed at least 19
people in the West African state of Gabon is now under control, says the
WHO.
As Â鶹´«Ã½ went to press, five surviving patients were
undergoing treatment for the disease, which is fatal in 70 to 80 per cent of
cases. A further 86 people suspected of having had contact with the virus are
under investigation at a hospital in northeast Gabon. “No one suspected of
having had contact with the virus has left the country,” says a WHO
spokesman.
