Review : Movie bugs

10 May 1997

An unusual cinematic release is Microcosmos (directed by Claude Nuridsany and
Marie Perennou, 1996, 75 minutes), an unnarrated nature documentary set in a
Pyrenean meadow. It swept the board at last year’s French film awards. The
macrophotography is superb and the insect stars have a whole new look on the big
screen. It opens in 25 British towns on 16 May.
