The first sheep cloned from an adult cell is pregnant. Dolly mated naturally
with a Welsh mountain sheep. “We’re not giving details about when she mated or
when the happy event is due, to shield her from media intrusion,” says Harry
Griffin, assistant director at the Roslin Institute near Edinburgh. He says that
the objective is to allay fears that clones would be infertile.
