Australia is to stage a new annual public forum for science, following the
demise of the congresses run by the Australian and New Zealand Association for
the Advancement of Science
(This Week, 11 October 1997, p 16).
The new meetings will be held in May as part of National Science Week. The
first two will be in Melbourne. The work of young scientists will be given an
especially high profile.
