Small and medium-sized companies in Britain will be able to get more bang for
their research bucks with the announcement in last week’s Budget of a new
R&D tax credit. The move will cut the after-tax cost of research by up to 24
per cent. It comes as part of a package of science-friendly measures which
includes money for university infrastructure.
