Sega’s latest games machine will allow you to surf the Web for free as well
as fly flight simulations. The £199 Dreamcast console, due to be launched
in the US this month and in Europe next month, displays images on a normal TV
like other consoles. Unlike normal consoles, however, it also has a built-in 33K
modem, providing dial-up access to the Internet without the need for a computer.
The joypad can be used to type on an on-screen keyboard, or a real (cabled)
keyboard can be bought for £20. But a Sega spokesman says the device will
not support plug-ins such as RealVideo.
