Palaeontologists have unearthed a new specimen of an enigmatic dinosaur,
similar to one that was destroyed in a British bombing raid on Munich in 1944.
Discovered in Egypt in 1915, Spinosaurus was a large, long-snouted
predator. But last week Josh Smith of the University of Pennsylvania told the
Society of Vertebrate Paleontology meeting in Denver that he has found the
original fossil site and spotted what may be a partial Spinosaurus
skeleton. This should make it easier to interpret several related dinosaur
specimens found recently.
