Nakibae Teuatabo‘s worst nightmare is waking up to discover his home being washed away by the ocean waves. This elder statesman lives on one of the islands that makes up the South Pacific state of Kiribati-pronounced Kiribas-where he is climate change coordinator. His homeland will be swallowed up by rising sea levels unless global warming is stopped in its tracks.
