It could happen: you’re Rollerblading along, when suddenly an ice storm
strikes. But not to worry. The sports shoe specialist MGM of Treviso in Italy
has developed the Scout shoe, which has interchangeable in-line wheels and
ice-skating blades. In just a couple of seconds, you can be wearing ice
skates—without even having to take off your boots. Key to this
transformable skate is a tough polymer sole that is moulded to allow a skate
attachment plate to snap on; the principle is similar to a ski-locking
