A hula-hoop that monitors your hip-gyrating fitness regime has been launched
by a Korean company. An array of soft plastic pressure sensors around the inner
rim of Lento’s patent-pending Magic Hoop keeps track of how many times the hoop
has spun round. It also works out how long you’ve kept it spinning, how many
calories you’ve burned, and even how many millimetres you’ve trimmed off your
waist in the process. Distributors are being sought outside Korea. “This is
going to catch on worldwide,” says Lento.
