The US presidency isn’t the only election whose results are being contested.
Last week the board of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers
(ICANN) voted to create .biz, .pro, .name, .museum, .aero, .coop and .info as
top-level domain names alongside .com. But some who paid the $50,000
needed to submit suggestions are crying foul. The World Health Organization has
expressed “extreme disappointment” that its .health proposal was not successful.
Others are now expected to take the matter to the US Department of Commerce,
which has the right to veto ICANN’s selection.
