The American Civil Liberties Union says it will sue the federal government in
an attempt to overturn the law that forces federally funded libraries to install
software that filters out sexually explicit material. “It gives parents a false
sense of security and takes away control from librarians and their patrons,”
says ACLU lawyer Chris Hansen.

Most filtering software failed to block access to objectionable websites,
says US magazine Consumer Reports. After testing six of these programs,
