Life in the fast lane

Police forces in Britain may be concerned by an idea designed to give
motorists advance warning of speed cameras. Patents filed by Morpheous Holdings
of Kent (GB 2353647 and GB 2353650) outline plans for a portable GPS receiver
with a built-in modem that downloads the coordinates of all known speed cameras.
The device monitors the driver’s position and bleeps when the car is approaching
a camera. When drivers spot a new camera they can store its coordinates,
allowing other drivers to store the update.
