target. In a survey of 300 students, Patrick McNamara at Boston University found
that people who wanted to be or liked being in a relationship dreamed more often
and more vividly than people who didn’t want a relationship or didn’t care
either way (Journal of Sleep Research, vol 10, p 117).
McNamara believes that dreaming is a way of processing emotional information
