HERBAL teas made from fruits can dissolve your teeth. Their high acid content
means they can be as acidic as fizzy drinks like cola. That means that despite
their image as a natural, healthy pick-me-up, they dissolve tooth enamel
(Journal of Dentistry, vol 29, p 517).

Paul Brunton at the University Dental Hospital of Manchester compared the
fate of extracted teeth in three different drinks: a blackcurrant, ginseng and
vanilla tea, ordinary Typhoo tea and water. After 14 days—equivalent to
