A MAN in Egypt has been caught impersonating a brain surgeon. Ahmed Mohammed Abdel Karim allegedly charged 4000 Egyptian pounds (£570) per operation, but unfortunately for his unwitting patients, he held no more than a preparatory school qualification. That didn’t stop him opening up a neurosurgery clinic three years ago in the town of Senouris, south-west of Cairo, and seeing around 200 patients a month.

Karim claimed to hold degrees from Egyptian and German universities and to have years of surgical experience working in Saudi Arabia. He has now been arrested while prosecutors try to find out…
