Shake it up, baby

Scrolling through cellphone menus or text messages with one hand can be a stuggle. So NEC in Japan is patenting a neat trick (GB 2371962) to make phones easier to use. Its phone contains two motion sensors: one responds to vertical movement to scroll text on the screen up and down, while the other makes the screen scroll sideways when you shake the phone from side to side.
