WHO are we? This question grips the imagination – and fuelled the recent spat over the ancient skull found in Chad (“Who are we?” Â鶹´«Ã½, 26 October, p 44). Was it a hominid or an ancient ape? Great timing for a book called The Speciation of Modern Homo Sapiens. Editor Tim Crow presents world-class minds addressing just these questions – a rich haul of ideas and answers.
