A spoonful of chocolate…

You’ll probably have your fill of chocolate over the holiday season – but if you are suffering from more than indigestion it may be just what the doctor ordered. Paulo Alteffer of San Francisco notes that medical treatments often fail because patients stop taking their foul-tasting tablets (WO 02/078746). So he has come up with a type of particularly addictive chocolate to mix into the medicine.

The chocolate is made from lightly roasted cocoa, dosed with extra quantities of amines and amino acids known to induce cravings, such as tyrosine. In tests, says Alteffer, patients liked the taste so much…
