Digital film doubles view

Eastman Kodak wants to defend its market for camera film while embracing some of the advantages of digital photography (US 2003/43275). Its new camera allows photographers to choose which photographs on a film to develop and print. Poor shots can be ignored.

The camera simultaneously takes a high-quality film picture and a low-resolution digital image that is saved on a memory card. The Advanced Photo System (APS) film it uses incorporates a magnetic layer that stores processing and printing instructions.
