SCIENTISTS doing history all too easily make a hash of it. This book, written by a renowned Cambridge physicist, is an exception. Colin Humphreys proceeds cautiously, consulting relevant experts and explaining his case with admirable clarity. Of all the books claiming to provide a scientific explanation of the miracles that accompanied the Israelites’ departure from Egypt, The Miracles of Exodus surely rates as the best.
