Sift your snaps by mood

Fancy viewing your holiday through rose-tinted glasses? Philips has a way for you to call up all the best shots – or the worst, if you prefer (US 2003/0108241).

Reference photographs are taken of your family members in a variety of moods, and stored in a PC. Pattern recognition software looks for indicators such as smiley upturned lips, sad down-turned mouths, tight lips, bored frowns or tears. The software then compares any future photos with these reference shots and catalogues them as sad, bored or happy. When Dad wants to show what a good time everyone had, the PC displays…
