ELEPHANT SLAUGHTER

Elephants are being illegally slaughtered for their ivory in increasing numbers in central Africa. Carcasses now litter the huge Garamba National Park in the north-east of the Democratic Republic of Congo, according to field researcher John Watkin. He blames rebels from Sudan, who are trading ivory for arms.
