Ancient birds legged it to take wing

DID Archaeopteryx, the first known bird, have four wings? A postgraduate student has found evidence that the bird used its legs to help it fly. If confirmed, it could help resolve the debate on how bird flight evolved.

One theory says that bird flight evolved from gliding down from trees. But the prevailing belief is that it evolved from the ground up, when animals hopped and flapped their forelimbs to launch themselves into the air.
