More Stonehenge carvings come to light

A LASER scan has revealed ancient carvings on the stones at Stonehenge. Similar carvings were discovered in 1953, but the two images of axe heads found by the laser went unnoticed because they are not visible to the naked eye.

A British team from Wessex Archaeology in Salisbury and the laser firm Archaeoptics in Glasgow, UK, scanned a laser stripe across one of the monument’s standing stones and photographed the reflected light with a digital camera.
