Cocaine vaccine trials

The effectiveness of a vaccine designed to treat cocaine addiction will soon be tested in a trial in the US. The vaccine, called TA-CD and owned by Xenova of Slough in the UK, is designed to stimulate production of antibodies that bind to the drug, blocking its effect. The trial will involve over 100 addicts. Safety trials have already been done.
