DRIVERLESS CAR

Toyota has unveiled a single-seater concept car that communicates with other vehicles, allowing it to follow a lead car automatically. So while the cars’ occupants chat, the system takes complete control. The electric Toyota PM, shown last week at the Tokyo Motor Show, has a pod-like cabin suspended between four wheels that steer independently, giving it the ability to turn on the spot. The passenger can control speed and direction using two pistol grips. When the vehicle is stationary, the cabin stands upright to allow the occupant to walk in.
