PRINCE Charles is again under fire for his view on all things small. Calls for a moratorium on the commercial development of nanotechnology, backed by the prince and environment organisations such as the Canadian ETC Group, will have a damaging effect on poor nations, according to a survey of nanotech research worldwide.

Nanotechnology is thriving in developing countries, but scaremongering could hinder investment, just as it stalled money being put into agricultural biotechnology, says the survey. Its findings were published in Nanotechnology on Wednesday.
