What's in a nano?

WHILE scientists, environmental campaigners and even the heir to the British throne battle over the pros and cons of nanotechnology, a survey shows that most people haven’t even heard of it.

The survey, carried out jointly by the Royal Society and the Royal Academy of Engineers, found that just 29 per cent of the 1005 people asked had heard of nanotech while only 19 per cent gave a reasonable definition of it.
